The Boy Scouts of America makes no secret of ourmission: to raise youth who are equipped to make ethical decisions over theirlifetime. Per the National website:

"The Boy Scouts of America is one of thenation's largest and most prominent values-based youth developmentorganizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that buildscharacter, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, anddevelops personal fitness.

For over a century, the BSA has helped build thefuture leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelongvalues with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through over acentury of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a moreconscientious, responsible, and productive society."

HOW we teach is what makes this Programspecial.  Through ADVENTURE and FUN (methods), Scouts have fun and stayentertained while learning a variety of skills and overcoming physical andpersonal challenges to put teamwork, communication, planning, and leadership(aims) into practice.   The METHODS lead to teaching the AIMS and uphold theconcept, "Fun... with a purpose."
